Thank you for choosing to support the Safer Birth in Chad Foundation. Everything we have achieved so far has been funded by individuals and groups such as yourselves. We rely on our supporters to continue our work.

Our current funding aims for 2010 are:

Solar Lighting System for Chagoua and Farcha hospitals, maternity & paediatric units. Estimated cost £11,000

Midwifery training visit by British midwives to work alongside Chadian midwifery trainers, planned for November 2010. Estimated cost £8,000

Roughly only 25% of Chadian women receive trained assistance during labour and delivery, and this falls to roughly 16% in rural areas. There is only one midwife to every 37,000 women and almost none of these are in rural areas.
