Midwife at Training Day, Chagoua 2007

Over the last four years, supporters of the Safer Birth in Chad Foundation have been overwhelming in their generosity and enthusiasm to raise funds:

On 24th May 2009, SBCF's Treasurer, Colin Kidner will be taking part in the John Baron Fun Walk. This will be the third time Colin will have completed the walk and he hopes to raise in excess of £1,500. In September 2008, Mayday Healthcare plc donated £500 to SBCF. This money will go towards our next training visit due to take place in early 2009. Thanks to everyone at Mayday Healthcare for their huge generosity!

In July 2008, Bain Capital donated $1,000 to SBCF through their charitable initiatives fund. We are hugely grateful to the Bain Capital charity committee and associated individuals who made this donation possible.

In October 2007, the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) donated funds to build a water tower at Farcha Hospital and install a solar pump. This has made a huge difference to life at the hospital.

In February 2007, SBCF received a hugely generous donation from the Council members of 'The White Church By The Pond'. This donation went towards our trip to Chad in March 2007.

October 2006 saw another supporter- Alison MacDonald - organise a very successful bring and buy sale for her ladies Bible study group. Alison raised £150 for Safer Birth - another great effort!

In September 2006, supporters of Safer Birth organised a 'Bollywood Nights' fundraising evening in order to raise money. The event included a fancy dress competition and raffle and raised a total of £250. Our thanks go to Lalitha D'Souza, Pauline O'Melia and Celia Gausden and her daughters Vicky, Ann and Octavia for all their efforts!

July 2006 saw two members of Safer Birth organise a speed-dating event at Fluid Bar in the City of London. The evening saw fifteen men and fifteen women come together to see where cupid's arrow would strike. Everyone who took part agreed the event was a resounding success!

In May 2006, our Treasurer Colin Kidner took part in a sponsored three mile walk in aid of Safer Birth in Chad.  Colin managed to raise over £500 for the Foundation - which just goes to show that a little exercise can go a long way!

A big thanks to all our supporters and fundraisers - please do keep up the good work!
